Ye gods, so much to tell, so little time..
That salon job? Going well. It's only a few days a week and I get half of what I do. It hasn't been horribly busy, but I'm still averaging more than $10 an hour doing that. It's a pleasant change to actually have money in my wallet.
My friend? Dear A (my Albanian friend) from that very salon? Walked out the day after I started. And never told me. I had to find out from the boss. Oh, yeah. That wasn't weird at all. I guilted A a bit for putting me in such an awkward position and verbally slapped her upside the head for quitting over a blow out gone awry. I'm hoping she comes back. We make a good team.
At my other job-- the retail one-- I've been switched over to jewelry for the holidays. That's right, no more fitting rooms for me! Not for 6 weeks anyway. And I'm supposed to get a dollar more an hour whilst I work at the jewelry counter. Mainly because it's a commission job and I'm not getting commission. I'm contemplating switching over permanently. I seem to be doing well with sales there. It's like I'm a people magnet in that department.
Unfortunately, being around jewelry made me buy some. But I got such a good deal! I got an $85 Guess watch-- the buckled cuff watch with two extra bands-- for $14.50 and $60 earrings for $7.50. Add tax and subtract my discount, it'll wind up being a little less than that. There's another watch-- or two-- that I've got my eye on. And another super huge sale in a few weeks. I'm going to go broke..
A funny thing happened the other day in the jewelry department. I was going through inventory, scanning everything to find what would be going on sale soon-- oh, yes, I have that much power in my hands-- and I noticed this guy staring at me. He was kind of cute so I smiled a bit and went back to work, sorting everything and bringing it over to the next counter. Well, I notice cute guy speed walking in front of me and then I see he's noticed me again and practically takes off into a jog around the front of the counter I'm headed towards. That's when I see who he's running to... The girlfriend who must've given him a dirty look for staring at me.
And, on a completely unrelated note, I decided to cut some long bangs into my hair last night. Now there are certain times that I never recommend cutting your hair. They are: when you're hormonal (whether it be from PMS or pregnancy or whatever), when you're inebriated (drugs or alcohol or whatever), and when it's very late at night (or very tired). Why? Because your judgment is impaired. So when did I cut my hair? On the first day of my period, after taking a percocet for the migraine I've had for a good part of the week, and at around 1AM. I was 3 for 3! I figured I'd either hate it in the morning-- but it'd grow out, so who cares?-- or I'd love it. I'm liking it but wondering if I should go a smidge shorter because my hair keeps falling in my eyes. But I'm waiting until after I'm hormonal to decide that. I don't like pushing my luck.
And, on yet another completely unrelated note, I've fallen hard for Pandora. It's free and they play good music. Take it for a spin and see for yourself.
Jewelery....are you trying to kill me? LOL, seriously woman, you get the breaks! Guess watches here start at $75! If i didn't like you so much, i'd hate you!
Love the new photo :o)
Michelle- I'm telling you, make friends at your local department store. You will score some amazing deals. Of course, we-- the workers-- hide the best ones for ourselves. Because we're worth it.
Thanks! That's, well, me. Without the new bangs. And looking a bit grumpy. But that's normal for me, I suppose.

Oh the pic is absolutely beautiful. And I'm feeling so envious about all the gr8 discounts on the watch and earrings. the proices you mentioned (14 something and 7 something) are those prediscount or post discount?

Dee- Thanks! I've been pretty lucky with the discounts lately, haven't I? The prices mentioned were pre-discount and also pre-tax. All in all, the end price is a little less than the price I listed.
